I’d seen Bruninghaus with Colours a couple of times, and I loved his minimalist contributions to Weber’s solo “The Following Morning”. Buying this album when it first came out was just a no-brainer, and I’ve loved it ever since. Kenny Wheeler’s playing here is, as you say some of his best, almost on a par with “Deer Wan” which is just pure ecstasy. Christensen is a poet of the drums. Not a dull moment, not a wasted note, and a pure joy from beginning to end – even 44 years later! Beautiful cover, too.
